The project
This Hudson primary bathroom had plenty of square footage, but the original builder layout used it inefficiently. An oversized drop-in jetted tub and surrounding deck consumed much of the room while the existing shower felt cramped and dark.
The homeowners approached the remodel thoughtfully, with function driving the design. They wanted a larger shower, practical everyday storage and a primary bathroom that worked well for both of them.
Removing the oversized tub and an exterior window allowed the layout to be reconsidered. The new shower became the focal point of the room, with tile extending to the vaulted ceiling to emphasize the height of the space. Timeless materials and purposeful storage transformed an awkward builder layout into a comfortable primary ensuite designed around the homeowners' everyday needs.
