More space at home

Create More Space Without Leaving the Home You Love

Households change. You may need additional bedrooms or bathrooms, larger living areas, a home office, a primary suite expansion, multigenerational or in-law space, or garage or living-space that the home does not currently have. A room addition can add that space without requiring you to move.

Bedrooms, bathrooms & suites

Add the Space Your Household Needs

Bedroom, bathroom and primary suite additions can involve creating new usable living space or expanding the existing home. The scope is planned around how your household uses the space and the property’s conditions.

Everyday living

More Room for Everyday Living

Family room additions, living room additions, home office additions and general-purpose additions create functional space around the way your household lives and works. The addition is planned for the use you have in mind.

Multigenerational living

In-Law & Multigenerational Living Spaces

Home Res-Q accepts qualifying projects intended to create additional space for extended or multigenerational households. We use the terms “in-law suite” and “multigenerational living space.” Whether separate utilities, kitchens, separate entrances or independent occupancy are possible depends on the property and applicable requirements.

Garage projects

Garage Additions & Conversions

A garage addition is construction that adds garage space. A garage conversion is qualifying renovation of existing garage space for another use. These are different projects, and feasibility and project requirements vary by property and scope.

Not every garage can legally or structurally be converted. Home Res-Q does not make statements about required parking, zoning, floor elevation, HVAC, fire separation, egress or occupancy approval unless verified for a particular project.

Attached & detached

Attached & Detached Additions

Home Res-Q accepts qualifying attached and detached addition projects. A detached addition is not characterized as an independent dwelling, and it does not automatically qualify for plumbing, kitchens, sleeping areas or separate occupancy. Project feasibility depends on the property, the intended use and applicable requirements.

Lanai enclosure

Enclosed Lanai Projects

Home Res-Q accepts qualifying projects involving the enclosure and renovation of existing lanai areas. Not every lanai can be converted into conditioned living space. Square footage conversion, legal living-area status, HVAC extension, structural suitability and permit approval all depend on the property and the project.

Beyond cosmetic remodeling

When Remodeling Changes the Footprint

Some remodeling projects involve physically expanding or substantially modifying the existing home rather than updating finishes. Home Res-Q evaluates qualifying structural expansion projects within its applicable Florida Certified Building Contractor scope. Project requirements vary based on the existing home, proposed addition and applicable construction, permitting and professional requirements.

Where architects, engineers or other professionals are required, Home Res-Q does not replace those professionals.

Coordinated remodeling

Building the New Space Into the Rest of Your Home

Additions often connect with other remodeling needs. A new space may tie into existing or planned kitchen, bathroom, flooring, cabinet, countertop or whole-home remodeling work. Home Res-Q can coordinate qualifying related remodeling as part of the overall project.

Our approach

Addition Project Approach

  1. Step 1

Tell Us What Space You Need

Share the kind of space you want to add and how your household plans to use it.

  2. Step 2

    Initial Project Qualification

We confirm whether the project fits our addition services and service area.

  3. Step 3

    Property & Project Consultation

We review the property and the existing conditions relevant to the addition.

  4. Step 4

    Define the Addition Scope

We define the addition scope based on the property and your priorities.

  5. Step 5

    Coordinate the Construction

Home Res-Q coordinates and completes the construction work within the defined scope.

  6. Step 6

    Complete the New/Expanded Space

The finished addition or expanded space is reviewed as part of the completed project.

Start with the property

Every Addition Starts With the Property

An addition’s feasibility depends on factors specific to the property and the project, including the existing home and property conditions, the proposed project scope, the available property configuration, and applicable construction, permitting and professional requirements.

Home Res-Q does not provide zoning or legal conclusions, does not promise that every property qualifies, and does not publish internal qualification rules. Request a consultation so we can review the property and the project.

Yes. Home Res-Q builds qualifying primary suite additions as part of its room addition services. The scope of a primary suite addition is defined based on the property and your priorities.

Feasibility and project requirements vary by property and scope, and not every garage can legally or structurally be converted.

Can Home Res-Q create an in-law suite?

Home Res-Q accepts qualifying in-law suite and multigenerational living space projects. Home Res-Q uses the terms "in-law suite" and "multigenerational living space" rather than treating a detached addition or in-law space as an independent dwelling, rental unit or legal dwelling unit. Whether separate utilities, kitchens, separate entrances or independent occupancy are possible depends on the property and applicable requirements.

Does Home Res-Q work on attached and detached additions?

Yes. Home Res-Q accepts qualifying attached and detached addition projects. A detached addition is not automatically characterized as an independent dwelling, and it does not automatically qualify for plumbing, kitchens, sleeping areas or separate occupancy. Project feasibility depends on the property, the intended use and applicable requirements.

Can an existing lanai be enclosed?

Home Res-Q accepts qualifying projects involving the enclosure and renovation of existing lanai areas. Not every lanai can be converted into conditioned living space, and square footage conversion, legal living-area status, HVAC extension, structural suitability and permit approval all depend on the property and the project.

How do I know whether an addition will work on my property?

Every addition starts with the property. Feasibility depends on the existing home and property conditions, the proposed project scope, the available property configuration, and applicable construction, permitting and professional requirements. Home Res-Q does not provide zoning or legal conclusions and does not promise that every property qualifies. Request a consultation so we can review the property and the project.
